Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Projects)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Somerset West. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a civils and earthworks contractor on the Somerset West side of Western Cape.

• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying

• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard

• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Study support for an honours degree
