Job Description

Hard outdoor work on a shopping centre renovation in Bellville, with a chance to learn a trade while you earn. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Bellville, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

The work, day to day

Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches

What you need

You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
Prepared to travel between sites in the area
Willing to start early, often at 06:30

Nice if you have

Living near the site (many projects hire local labour)
A working-at-heights or scaffolding ticket
Previous site work you can show with a reference

On offer

Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
Paid weekly or fortnightly
