Site Security Officer (Construction Yard)

Steady 12-hour shifts at a distribution warehouse in Epping for PSIRA-registered officers. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at a distribution warehouse.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)

• Clean criminal record
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Firefighting or evacuation training

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Provident fund contributions
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
