Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at a bank's digital channels team in Bellville. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Bellville-based, with most of your time spent at a bank's digital channels team.

What your day looks like

Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards

You'll need

Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Experience writing automated tests
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
