Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at an e-commerce platform in Roodepoort. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in Roodepoort. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

The work, day to day

Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs

What you need

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Experience writing automated tests
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript

Nice if you have

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
