Job Description

A logistics software company in Somerset West needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a logistics software company on the Somerset West side of Western Cape. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

What your day looks like

Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments

Must-haves

Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Experience writing automated tests
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Extra points for

Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Docker and Kubernetes experience
