Job Description

You'll turn messy data into reports managers actually use, for a telecoms provider in Paarl. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Paarl-based, with most of your time spent at a telecoms provider.

The work, day to day

Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions
Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python
Write SQL to pull, join and clean data from several sources
Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA

You'll need

Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs
Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
Advanced Excel
At least 2 years in a data or reporting role (not needed for graduate posts)
Careful with sensitive customer data
Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
