Stock Packer (Distribution Centre)

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a spares and hardware warehouse in Hammarsdale, and nobody minds if it's your first job. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Hammarsdale. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker

• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves

• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate
• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment

• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
