Structural Repair Technician (Chassis Straightening)

You'll bring accident-damaged cars back to factory standard at the dealership body shop in Pretoria East. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work is in Pretoria East, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
• Pull and straighten chassis damage on a measuring jig
• Mix paint colours with a spectrophotometer and the mixing scheme
• Strip damaged panels, bumpers and trims and bag the fixings
• Mask up vehicles properly to keep overspray off glass and trim
• Photograph repair stages for the insurance assessor

• Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use
• Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
• Good colour vision and a steady hand
• Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards
• Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work
• Experience with modern waterborne or high-solids paint systems

• Measuring jig and electronic measuring experience
• ADAS camera and sensor recalibration after repairs

• Full respirator and spray suit supplied
• Paint supplier training courses
• Clean, modern booth and prep area

• Say which paint systems you have used, like waterborne base coat with a 2K clear. Body shops care about this.
