Tax Compliance Officer (SARS Disputes) – Permanent

You'll keep clients in good standing with SARS at a fiduciary and trust company in Boksburg. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The site is in Boksburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules
• Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
• Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
• Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
• Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
• Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
• Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE

• Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
• Comfortable handling tax season overtime
• Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
• Neat, careful and organised with client documents
• Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
• At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience

• Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
• Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax

• Flexible hours outside filing season
• Paid controlling body subscription
• Bonus at the end of filing season
