Job Description

Returns, assessments and objections all land on your desk at a mid-tier accounting firm in Atlantis. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a mid-tier accounting firm in Atlantis. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules

Must-haves

Comfortable handling tax season overtime
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act

Helpful, not essential

Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
