Job Description

A mid-tier accounting firm in Middelburg (MP) needs a tax practitioner who knows eFiling inside out. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a mid-tier accounting firm on the Middelburg (MP) side of Mpumalanga. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

The work, day to day

Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time

Must-haves

Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA

Nice if you have

Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
Postgraduate diploma in tax
