Truck Loader (Night Shift)

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a cement and brick yard in Midrand wants. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a cement and brick yard in Midrand. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals

• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
