Voice-Picking Warehouse Assistant

Every order that leaves this building-supplies depot in Umhlanga passes through your hands first. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The site is in Umhlanga; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off

• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred

• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate

• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
