Waiter / Waitress (Evening Shift)

Good service at a beachfront cocktail bar in Bellville starts with you: friendly, quick and on top of every order. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is in Bellville (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.

• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus

• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
• Responsible Service of Alcohol training

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
