Warehouse General Hand (Day Shift)

You'll keep a busy spares and hardware warehouse in Pietermaritzburg stocked, picked and moving out on time. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Pietermaritzburg-based, with most of your time spent at a spares and hardware warehouse. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane

• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals

• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
