Warehouse General Hand (Day Shift)

Every order that leaves this building-supplies depot in Umhlanga passes through your hands first. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off

• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves

• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
