Warehouse General Hand (Day Shift) – Permanent

Every order that leaves this clothing distribution centre in Umlazi passes through your hands first. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in Umlazi; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor

• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• South African ID or a valid work permit

• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied

• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
