Warehouse Picker (Night Shift)

You'll keep a busy clothing distribution centre in Brackenfell stocked, picked and moving out on time. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Brackenfell; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count

• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season

• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment
• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse

• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
