Warehouse Picker (Night Shift)

Every order that leaves this frozen-food distribution centre in East London passes through your hands first. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The site is in East London; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count

• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift

• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse
• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner

• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
