Warehouse Picker (Night Shift)

Pick it right, pack it neat, send it out: that's the job at a clothing distribution centre in Mthatha. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Mthatha (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule

• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)

• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts

• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
