Wine Steward (Fine Dining) – Entry Level

You'll look after tables at a family steakhouse in Germiston, from the first greeting to the final bill. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Germiston, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.

• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays

• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Uniform supplied and laundered
