Job Description

Good service at a wine farm restaurant in Pinetown starts with you: friendly, quick and on top of every order. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll report in Pinetown. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.

You'll need

Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience

Extra points for

Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
Responsible Service of Alcohol training
