Yellow Machine Mechanic (Earthmoving Plant) – Immediate Start

Every hour a truck stands still costs money. This truck dealership workshop in Midrand needs a mechanic who can fix it quickly. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a truck dealership workshop in Midrand. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck
• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
• Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage
• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Repair hydraulics on tippers, cranes and tail-lifts
• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles

• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• Solid understanding of air brake systems
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks

• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles
• Auto electrical skills

• Overtime available most weeks
• Standby and call-out allowance
• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop
