Alarm Monitoring Controller (Night Shift)

Night or day, an armed response control room in Ermelo never switches off, and neither does your focus on shift. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at an armed response control room in Ermelo. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement

• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Matric

• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Training on the monitoring software
• Shift allowance for nights

• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
