Job Description

When a panic button goes off in a suburban residential area in Middelburg (MP), you are the one who arrives first. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Middelburg (MP)-based, with most of your time spent at a suburban residential area. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

What you need

Calm under pressure and physically fit
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts

Nice if you have

Advanced driving course
Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
