Job Description

A software development house in Durban Central needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

What you'll actually do

Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab

Must-haves

Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
