Job Description

You'll keep servers, networks and cloud services up and secure for a managed services provider in Pinetown. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a managed services provider on the Pinetown side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts
Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
Apply monthly patches to servers and network devices

What you need

Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
Clear change management and documentation habits
