Systems Administrator (Microsoft 365 and Azure)

An university IT department in Pinetown needs infrastructure that just works, and someone to make it so. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Pinetown. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Document network diagrams and change records
• Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
• Manage users, groups and conditional access in Entra ID
• Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
• Apply monthly patches to servers and network devices
• Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts

• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
• Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications

• Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
• ISO 27001 audit experience
