Candidate Mechanical Engineer (ECSA)

Design it, build it, fix it: mechanical engineering work at the food and beverage factory in Pinetown. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The work is in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
• Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom

• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
