Cashbook and Recon Clerk – Experienced

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a motor dealership in Johannesburg CBD. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Location: Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
• Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days

• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Matric with Accounting
• Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details

• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
• Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys

• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Office hours with no weekend work
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
