Job Description

You'll cook fast, clean food on the line at a wood-fired pizzeria in Roodepoort. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Roodepoort, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Bake breads, pastries or desserts for the morning buffet.
Run your station during service and call back every ticket from the pass.
Cook steaks, burgers and grills to the temperature on the docket.
Prep veg, sauces, marinades and portions from the daily mise en place list.
Help cost recipes and track waste on the weekly sheet.
Plate to the spec photo so every dish looks the same.
Train the kitchen assistants on knife safety and prep standards.

What you need

1 to 3 years in a busy commercial kitchen
You know food safety basics under R638 and HACCP
Good knife skills and you can prep at speed
Comfortable in heat, on your feet, for long split shifts
Weekend, holiday and evening work is part of the deal

Extra points for

Pastry or bakery training
Experience with combi ovens and batch cooking
