Job Description

Hit your collection targets at this debt collection agency in Bloemfontein and your commission shows it. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Bloemfontein, Free State. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.
Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.
Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.

You'll need

Matric
At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
Clear credit and criminal record

Extra points for

Legal collections or attorney-firm background
Knowledge of the NCA and prescription rules
A second South African language
