Customer Service Consultant (Cellular Store)

You'll help walk-in customers at a courier depot counter in Pietermaritzburg, face to face, all day. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Pietermaritzburg-based, with most of your time spent at a courier depot counter. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Do SIM swaps and RICA registrations with proper ID checks.
• Call customers when repairs or orders are ready to collect.
• Update customer details and file signed forms for audit.
• Book repairs and warranty claims and give customers a reference number.
• Greet customers, find out what they need and manage the queue ticket system.
• Track parcels, reissue waybills and arrange redelivery at the counter.

• Good on a computer and point-of-sale system
• Matric (Grade 12) certificate
• Retail hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and month-end
• You can stay polite with a long queue watching
• Accurate with cash and paperwork
• Presentable and approachable with all kinds of customers

• Speaking the main local language of your area
• RICA and cellular product knowledge
• Medical scheme or insurance product knowledge

• Monthly sales incentive on upgrades and add-ons
• Product training and certifications paid for
• Fixed roster published two weeks ahead

• Dress as if you already work the counter when you drop off a CV or go for the interview.
• Apply close to home: stores prefer people who can reach the mall reliably for opening and closing shifts.
