Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks) – Experienced

You'll load and offload trucks at a beverage depot in Johannesburg CBD so every delivery goes out full and correct. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a beverage depot on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop

• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• No criminal record
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note

• Basic furniture assembly skills
• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Meal allowance on long-route days
