Job Description

Trucks come in heavy and leave loaded at this beverage depot in Roodepoort, and you move the stock in between. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

The work, day to day

Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises

You'll need

Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
No criminal record
Friendly with customers at the door
Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

Nice if you have

Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
Basic furniture assembly skills
