Job Description

Tickets come in all day at this group of private schools in Umlazi, and you close them. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Umlazi-based, with most of your time spent at a group of private schools. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system

Must-haves

Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
