Job Description

A hospital group in Pretoria West needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Pretoria West, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What you'll actually do

Write short how-to guides for common user problems
Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops

Must-haves

Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
Patient and friendly with non-technical users
Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)

Helpful, not essential

CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification
Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management
