Mall Control Room Operator – Immediate Start

Sharp eyes and a calm voice are the tools of the trade at a vehicle tracking control centre in Soweto. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: Soweto, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software

• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone

• Speaking more than one local language
• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
• Call centre work in the past

• Shift allowance for nights
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
