Job Description

Shrinkage hurts every electronics store; in Mamelodi, you would be the one tracking it down. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Mamelodi-based, with most of your time spent at an electronics store.

What your day looks like

Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
Share trends with the store manager each week
Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy

Must-haves

Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
Good report writing
PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
Discreet, observant and honest
Able to handle confrontation calmly

Nice if you have

Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Retail loss prevention course
