Management Accountant (Retail Group)

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a national retail chain head office in Krugersdorp. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The site is in Krugersdorp; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries

• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• Completed articles at an audit firm
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
