Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at an insurance company software team in Johannesburg CBD. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Johannesburg CBD. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Document how your features work for support and new developers
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Write unit and integration tests before you merge

Must-haves

Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
