Job Description

This debt collection agency in Umhlanga needs a calm negotiator who can hear "no" without giving up. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a debt collection agency on the Umhlanga side of KwaZulu-Natal.

The work, day to day

Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.
Answer disputes about balances, interest and fees with a printed statement.
Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.

You'll need

Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
Matric
You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
Target-driven and comfortable with commission
Clear credit and criminal record

Extra points for

Knowledge of the NCA and prescription rules
Legal collections or attorney-firm background
