Job Description

Behind every correct payslip at this retail head office in Cape Town CBD is a careful payroll person. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Cape Town CBD (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

The work, day to day

Capture new hires, terminations and changes on Sage 300 People or VIP.
Answer staff payslip queries clearly and in private.
Calculate leave pay, notice pay and severance on terminations.
Run the payroll, check variances and get sign-off before cut-off.
Keep payroll files and banking details secure under POPIA.
Import clock-card data and check overtime against the BCEA limits.
Declare UIF on uFiling and assist staff with UI-19 forms.

What you need

You triple-check figures before anything is paid
Hands-on Sage 300 People, VIP, PaySpace or SimplePay
Strong Excel, especially VLOOKUP and pivot tables
At least 2 years running a full payroll end to end
Sound knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL and the BCEA
