Production Line Worker (Food Factory) – Experienced

Machines set the pace at this plastic moulding plant in Umhlanga; you keep up and catch the faults. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Umhlanga. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones

• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check

• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
• Some basic first-aid training

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
