Quality Sorter (Packaging Factory) – Entry Level

Here in Prospecton, a meat processing plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a meat processing plant on the Prospecton side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects

• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory

• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
