Job Description

A software development house in Johannesburg CBD needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

What your day looks like

Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab

What you need

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Experience writing automated tests
