Shift Supervisor (Guarding Contract)

A security company in Johannesburg CBD wants a firm, fair supervisor for its mining operation. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a mining operation in Johannesburg CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
• Investigate incidents and write reports for the client

• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites

• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app
• Labour relations or basic supervision course
• Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts

• Provident fund and funeral cover

• Management training for growth to operations manager
