Stock Packer (Distribution Centre)

You'll keep a busy clothing distribution centre in Prospecton stocked, picked and moving out on time. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Prospecton; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes

• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts

• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation

• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
