Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a business park in Stellenbosch. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The site is in Stellenbosch; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end

You'll need

Clean criminal record and no pending cases
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Calm under pressure and physically fit

Extra points for

SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
Advanced driving course
Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
